Break is over. Time to pontificate again. The last series was based on my view of existential threats; how dreary. For this iteration I will focus on non-existential threats (as if you did not have enough to worry about). As usual, the focus will be on active compassion as it may arise from the realization of our interconnectedness with…everything! Here are the topics from which I reserve the right to diverge, add or subtract: Private governments; Graft (greed) manifested in both public and private spheres; Propaganda in the age of AI; Subversion of the Fourth and Fifth Estates by new monied special interests and their power; Impediments to transition/transfomation/migration of energy sources; a new world order based on dominance, violence transactionalism, theatrics (and at the personal level, the death of kindness and lack of ethical regard for others). No holds barred. No fear of Orwellian consequences (after all, I am almost 80 and immune from most threats aside from pulling of fingernails or teeth that are left, vis a vis “The Marathon Man“; and I am white with a passport).
